ABOUT US

Band's symbol

Evorto is a rock band formed in Aracaju, Sergipe, in 2012, and started performing live in 2013. Since then, it’s been over 10 years of gigs, touring, songwriting, and plenty of stories to tell. We released our first original, self-titled album in 2016.

The band went on hiatus at the end of 2018 but resurfaced in 2025 revamped, more active than ever, and looking for opportunities to showcase our work.

Our live show follows the styles that guide us: the groove of Stoner, the attitude of Grunge, the heaviness of Metal, and the authenticity of Indie.

Through an energetic and dynamic performance, our main goal is to share with the audience the exact same energy we feel up on stage.

STORY

It all started with another original band: The Minds. The lineup consisted of Dayane Machado on vocals and guitar, Dan Santos on guitar, Irlan Paccioli on bass, and André Massao on drums. The band followed a Blues-Rock style and even wrote some original songs and played a few live shows.

In 2012, Dayane decided to leave the project for personal reasons. The remaining members found themselves in a situation where they had to either replace her and continue, or end the band for good. Their decision, however, was neither of those. Driven by the desire to keep playing together, but not wanting to simply fill the spot Dayane left, they decided to completely revamp the band.

Dan Santos took over the vocals in addition to the guitar, and Matheus Alcântara joined the band as the second guitarist. The band's sound would also change. Shifting from Blues-Rock to something heavier, organic, and visceral, it drew influences from Stoner Rock, Sludge, Doom, Grunge, and even Metal. Thus, Evorto was born.

Shortly after, Matheus left the band. Irlan then took over the second guitar, and the bass spot was filled by Ravel Araujo, cementing the classic lineup of the band's first era.

Initially, four songs were written, and the band hit the studio to record and release them as their first EP. The tracks were "Acid Rain" (which gave the EP its title), "Bloody Sadness" (which would later be renamed to "Mold"), "Zealot", and "Why Do You Insist The Sky Is Blue". The first three were written by Dan, and the last one by Irlan. The EP was digitally distributed on alternative platforms, but it was never officially released.

Around this same time, Evorto began playing their first live gigs at local venues and independent music events. Between shows, ideas for new songs emerged, and they were written one by one. In 2013, the band recorded the single "Icarus" and added it to their repertoire, which up until then had consisted of their five original songs and a few covers of classic bands.

For the next three years, the band ramped up their number of live performances and started getting their name recognized, especially in the capital's underground scene. More songs were written, rehearsed, and integrated into their live setlists.

In 2016, the band went into the studio again with the goal of recording another release, but this time, a full-length album. The four songs from the EP were re-recorded, along with the single "Icarus" and five previously unreleased songs, totaling 10 tracks. The drums were tracked at Mojo Studio, famous in the city for recording renowned regional bands and even some with national recognition. The rest of the instruments and vocals were recorded in a home studio, mixed and mastered by Dan Santos. A few weeks later, on September 15, 2016, the self-titled album Evorto was officially released, featuring 10 original tracks, and made available on Spotify and all major music streaming platforms.

Over the next two years, the band continued playing venues and events around the capital to promote the album, now featuring a mostly original setlist and always playing the album in its entirety.

By the end of 2018, the intensifying routine of shows and rehearsals, along with the pressure to write new songs, ended up causing some burnout among the members. There was also the news that drummer André Massao might be moving out of Aracaju. Combining this with other personal factors, the band reached a consensus to go on an indefinite hiatus, ending all activities.

In mid-2025, Irlan and Ravel were playing together in a cover project. The vocalist spot opened up, so they decided to invite Dan for the role. The three of them were playing together again, and the idea of reviving Evorto was inevitable. However, they were missing a drummer, since Massao no longer lived in the city at the time. Madson Gomes was the drummer for that cover project, so naturally, he also joined Evorto, completing the lineup, which now also included Raffael Oliveira on guitar, leaving Dan exclusively on vocals.

In early 2026, for personal reasons, Irlan left the band. Dan went back to taking on both vocals and guitar, and Evorto returned to being a quartet, featuring Dan Santos on vocals and guitar, Raffael Oliveira on second guitar, Ravel Araujo on bass, and Madson Gomes on drums.

Currently, the band is in the process of writing new material for the release of their second studio album, fighting the constant battle of indie bands to reinsert themselves into the scene and find space to showcase their work.
